My insurance wasn't reinstated yet as my car was being repaired and off road. The jerk was clearly at fault but my insur won't pay as my insur kicked in days later. His insur is only offering me $490 for a totaled car, a 99 KIA KBB value at $1300-1700. So I have a screwed up car, i paid for alignment done ,3 tires bought due to alignment still screwy. I also replaced a broken brake line that broke due to his hit and he kept backing up while my car was attached to his rear bumper. Passenger door smashed in still. I was hoping for at least $1000 just to fix it to be safe, not concerned about dents. I have laid out @ 400 already and its still dangerous to drive. My insur won't pay, theirs are low balling it and my car:s a hot mess. Help! What can I , should I do? PS I am disabled and so is my daughter and we need my old clunker.

OK, so I got my car insurance renewal to start on 16 May, and it went up from 40 a month to 60, for no gosh darned reason. Grrr. Last year, it went up from 35 a month to 50 and I had a whinge down the phone at them, and they reduced it to 40 by changing the recovery a bit (I don't get help now unless I am more than a mile from home; but the chances are I would be when I broke down anyway, and even if I was half a mile away, I could walk back!) so I agreed to change that. So I rang them today and they said they can lower it a fiver because I am a 'loyal' customer, (so down to 55 a month.) Big deal! I am nearly 40, I passed my test 20 years ago, and I have been with them 10 years and NEVER made a claim, and yet they bump my premium by a third! I am like It's a LOT of dosh. Does this seem like a ludicrous leap to you? Has yours gone up a lot too? Does this sound like a high amount to pay? (55 to 60 a month.) Or reasonable for a 38 year old woman? It does include recovery in this quote, and the recovery is about 130. But 2 years ago, I was paying 35, and this year they are asking for 60 a month! I've just got insured on a car and I paid the deposit over the phone with the card I was then insured driving the car. the insurance company asked me to send a copy of my licence which 6 months down the line I havent got around in doing but I'm still insured I was wondering if they ask me to send my no claims certificate and I never sent it would I still be insured until I have an accident in which case they request a no claims bonus or would they cancel the policy strait away?
